Home Internet Options
If you are in the Kansas City Public Library service area, you most likely have three major options for home broadband internet service: Charter Spectrum, Google Fiber, or AT&T. Of course there may be exceptions! If you qualify each provider offers low-cost options to make home internet service affordable to you. Check out our quick guide: Low-Cost Home Internet Options in KCMO.
To be sure you are considering ALL of your options, check in with the TechConnect Helpline.
Special Note: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are two options for KC metro residents to receive assistance signing up for and/or paying for home internet service!
The Internet Access Support Program helps you find affordable service, pays off old balances, gets you caught up on your past due bills, and pays your bill for up to 6 months.
Through the FCC's EBB, you may be eligible to receive a discount of up to $50 per month for home internet. You may also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 on the purchase of a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if you contribute $10 to $50 toward the purchase price.
Here are a few resources to help you get signed up for EBB.
