Meet the members of the Kansas City Public Library's Strategic Initiatives team.
Tech Access Coordinator
Megan's role as Tech Access Coordinator has her overseeing the team's strategic partnerships and volunteer corps to ensure Tech Access's resources are made accessible to patrons and partners who want support in the fields of digital literacy and digital inclusion. She is also part of the Google Fiber sponsored Digital Inclusion Fellowship, with an emphasis on connecting seniors and mature adults with the tools and resources they need to successfully navigate an increasingly online world.
Tech Access Awareness Coordinator
Elaine Bilyeu joined the KCPL Tech Access Team in October 2020 as the Tech Access Awareness Coordinator. Her position entails coordinating team social media campaigns, creating monthly community partner newsletters, and raising public consciousness and engagement of Tech Access patron services. Her position with Tech Access allows her to learn how social media, marketing, and digital equity are changing in 2021.
Virtual Services Program Coordinator
Jennifer Williams Tech Access Virtual Services Program Coordinator Jennifer is already a familiar face to many, having worked in Tech Access through the AmericCorps VISTA program before joining the Library fulltime. She helps develop virtual tech services and STEM-related (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programming for patrons and other members of the community. As a VISTA volunteer, she developed digital learning assessments and materials designed to assist individuals in acquiring or refreshing workplace computer skills.
KC Coalition for Digital Inclusion Outreach Coordinator
Lindsey Pulse is an AmeriCorps VISTA member serving as the Outreach Coordinator for the Kansas City Coalition for Digital Inclusion. Lindsey joins the Coalition after working in the journalism industry — most recently as the Producer of a morning show in Chicago. Lindsey was born and raised in Kansas City and is excited to be back serving the community in which she grew up.
National Digital Inclusion Project Coordinator
Alex joined the Tech Access Team as the National Digital Inclusion Project Coordinator in May of 2021. Through a grant funded by the IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services), Alex works with the Kansas City Public Library and thirteen other small and rural libraries in developing successful projects centered around the theme of digital inclusion. At the conclusion of the project, he will compile all of the materials and resources used and create an online educational course so that other libraries can learn from this project and implement their own digital inclusion initiatives.
Tech Access Curriculum Curator
Andrew joined the Tech Access Team in April 2021 to help create guides and lessons for tech trainers taking steps to ensure all information and examples are up to date. He’s also developing on step-by-step instructions to help patrons build their digital literacy skills. As a former graphic designer turned librarian, he’s looking forward to bringing to digital literacy to others.
Strategic Initiatives Manager
Wendy supports the team and oversees all projects within Kansas City Public Library's Strategic Initiatives department, including Tech Access. She can help you navigate the realm of digital inclusion in the Kansas City region or beyond!
